2010 sucks

My back is starting to get better. The musculoskeletal specialist thinks the disc should have healed by now and the pain I'm now feeling is because all the ligaments and muscles have siezed.
I'm being referred to gym based physiotherapy now, which should get things moving.

I have returned to work, but only on light duties as there is no way I could carry one of our response bags, let alone a patient...
I thought being at home was boring, but light duties really is boring! I spend my days doing made up tasks and shuffling vehicles. The made up tasks are so uninteresting that I actually look forward to moving vehicles around...

Then last Thursday I ended up spending the night in A&E!
About 6pm I had sudden onset groin pain and restricted urine flow. I took lots of painkillers, but they didn't even touch the pain and by midnight I was going out of my mind!
Knowing that I was in no fit state to drive and I would only call an ambulance if I was actually dying, I checked facebook to see who was still up.
Fortunately Beth was and having taken her to hospital before, I didn't hesitate to make the call.
Beth's boyfriend Chris was just coming home from work, so the pair of them took me to A&E and I really can't thank them enough.

It took quite a long time to be seen, but when I was they wasted no time doping me up on painkillers. They kept me in overnight for observation and first thing in the morning a scan showed I have a 4mm kidney stone in the bladder.

I now have Tamsulosin, Diclofenac and painkillers and apparently I have to let nature take it's course... Well that was nearly a week ago and I still have to urinate frequently and painfully.
I've been back to the GP for more meds and now I have blood in my urine and a urinary tract infection too!
All that and I still have a 4mm stone to pass!
