Extra extra read all about it

Today I are a farmer in a TV advert for Morrisons.

I finished work on the ambulance at 1am, went home, packed a bag with the clothes wardrobe asked me for, then went to bed for 2 hours. My alarm woke me at 4am and by 5.30am I was stood in line for makeup and wardrobe in a supermarket in London...

It's the usual story of hurry up and wait. Most of the day is sat doing nothing, then there will be a flurry of activity and more waiting. Often the rush is just to change the area you're waiting in...
It's only time before people fall asleep, but in this game you snooze you lose.
Occasionally someone on the production team will walk round picking people for shots. If you're asleep you don't get picked. You still get paid though!

It's weird, there's 2 types of people who are extras, those who (like me) have a main job and just do this for fun and a bit of pocket money, then there's the wannabe actor.
The 'actors' are the funny ones, constantly name dropping and discussing recent productions as though they will be expecting a nomination for 'Best Supporting Actor' any day now. Most of the discussion from them today is about their time on 'Pirates' (of the Caribbean 4) or 'Sherlock' (Holmes 2).
The best I heard was "Johnny is lovely to work with, but I was forever having to prompt him for his lines"... In reality it's unlikely this person was within 10 foot of Mr Depp, and will likely be a blurred blob in the background!

Interestingly enough, the second part of this advert is being filmed in the same studio as parts of Sherlock.

Tired now, might have a snooze...
